$45 Million Brazos County Jail Completed

Texas Business reports: Turner Construction Company, the nation's leading builder, has successfully completed a $45 million expansion to the Brazos County Jail in Bryan.

Turner provided construction management services for the 140,000 sq. ft., 684-bed jail expansion, which includes three detention clusters connecting to the existing jail.

Turner's scope of work also included updating the security system to a state-of-the-art central control and monitoring and direct supervision control system.

"We are proud to have managed the construction to expand and enhance this facility to better serve the needs of Brazos County," said vice president Joe Glowacki in a prepared statement.

Turner is the leading general builder in the U.S., ranking first or second in all major segments of the building construction field.

During 2009, Turner completed $8.2 billion of construction.

Founded in 1902, the firm is a subsidiary of HOCHTIEF, one of the world's leading international construction service providers.
