$7.7 Million Houston Ship Channel Dredging Contract Awarded

Texas Business reports:  An Illinois firm won a $7.7 million contract to do dredging in the Houston Ship Channel, the U.S. Department of Defense announced.

Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Co LLC of Oak Brook, Ill., received a $7,756,320 firm-fixed-price contract. 

The award will provide for the pipeline dredging services in support of the Houston Ship Channel. 

Work will be performed in Anahuac, Texas, with an estimated completion date of April 15, 2012. 

The bid was solicited through the Internet, with three bids received.

 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston, Texas, handled the contract.
