Texas Business reports: IRVING—ACE Cash Express, Inc., a retailer of financial services, announced Douglas Lindsay has been promoted to the role of executive vice president and chief operating officer and Temple Weiss will join the company as executive vice president and chief financial officer effective immediately.
Lindsay is being promoted after seven years with ACE. He joined ACE in 2005 as vice president of finance.
In 2008, Lindsay was promoted to chief financial officer. Lindsay received a bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting from Washington and Lee University and a master’s degree from Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business.
“Douglas is the best person to enhance ACE's cross-departmental operating efficiencies necessary for accelerated growth," said ACE chief executive Jay Shipowitz in a prepared statement. “He has been an outstanding business partner to me and our executive team, and I look forward to his continued contributions.”
Weiss joins ACE after more than ten years with La Quinta Inns & Suites, a $4 billion lodging company with over 800 limited service hotels across North America, where he served as chief financial officer.
His career includes progressive roles in investor relations, treasury, mergers and acquisitions and finance.
Weiss received a bachelor’s degree in management and international business from Baylor University and a master’s degree in hospitality management and finance from the University of Houston.
“Temple brings years of multi-unit experience to ACE,” Shipowitz said. "He is an excellent addition to our executive team."
ACE Cash Express Inc. is a retailer of financial services, including short-term consumer loans, check cashing, bill payment and prepaid debit card services. ACE is the largest owner and operator of check cashing stores in the United States and the second largest owner and operator of short-term consumer loan stores in the United States.
