Amarillo Firm Wins $34.1 Million Order To Upgrade Tiltrotor Aircraft Trainers

Texas Business reports:  An Amarillo firm won a $34.1 million order to upgrade CV-22 training devices, the U.S. Department of Defense announced.

Bell-Boeing Joint Project Office, Amarillo, Texas received a $34,186,000 delivery order against a previously issued basic ordering agreement for the Block 20/C Upgrade to the CV-22 Training Devices, including the Cabin Operational Flight Trainer (COFT), Cabin Part Task Trainer, and the Wing Part Task Trainer. 

Work will be performed in Mesa, Ariz. (57 percent); Fort Worth, Texas, (34 percent); and Ridley Park, Pa. (9 percent), and is expected to be completed in June 2014.

Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. 

The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland handled the contract.
