Amarillo Firm Wins $7 Million Tilt Rotor Upgrade Order

Texas Business reports:  An Amarillo firm won a $7 million order for upgrades to tilt rotor aircraft upgrades, the U.S. Department of Defense announced.

Bell-Boeing Joint Project Office, Amarillo, Texas, received a $7,049,944 firm-fixed-price delivery order against a previously issued basic ordering agreement for the Block 20/C upgrade to the CV-22 to include co-site communications; multi-mission advanced tactical terminal replacement; standby flight instrument; global positioning system repeater system; parking brake light; and environmental control system upgrades.

Work will be performed in Ridley Park, Pa. (86 percent); Fort Walton Beach, Fla. (13.6 percent); and Fort Worth, Texas (0.4 percent).

Work is expected to be completed in December 2015.

Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland handled the contract.
