Amarillo’s Bell Boeing Wins $23.8 Million Contract for Tilt-Rotor Upgrade Kits

Texas Business reports:  An Amarillo firm won a $23.8 million contract for Osprey aircraft upgrade kits, the U.S. Department of Defense announced.

Bell Boeing Joint Project Office, Amarillo, Texas, received a $23,865,065 firm-fixed-price contract for the procurement of eight V-22 Block A to B 50 - 60 series upgrade kits.

Work will be performed in Philadelphia, Pa. (80 percent), and Fort Worth, Texas (20 percent), and is expected to be completed in June 2014. 

Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. 

This contract was not competitively procured pursuant to federal regulations.

The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., handled the contract.
