Austin's Meta Materials Wins $8.7 Million Antenna Contract

 Texas Business reports:  An Austin firm won an $8.7 million contract to develop and test vehicle antennas, the U.S. Department of Defense announced.

Meta Materials Inc. of Austin, Texas, received an $8,766,403 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract. 

The award will provide for the development and testing services in support of radio frequency antennas on military vehicles. 

Work will be performed in Austin, with an estimated completion date of July 11, 2015. 

The bid was solicited through the internet, with nine bids received.

The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Adelphi, Md., handled the contract.
