Texas Business reports: An Austin firm won a $19 million contract to replace a Navy medical clinic, according to the U.S. Department of Defense.
Satterfield & Pontikes Construction Inc. of Austin received a $19,096,000 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of the medical clinic replacement at Naval Construction Battalion Center Gulfport.
Work to be performed provides for the construction of a new branch clinic patient care facility, which includes a medical clinic and a dental clinic.
Buildings 295 and 369, and the existing car wash, located on the project site, will be demolished as part of this project. A new car wash will be designed at a new location.
Work will be performed in Gulfport, Miss., and is expected to be completed by August 2014. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
This contract was competitively procured via the Navy Electronic Commerce Online website with eight proposals received.
The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southeast, Jacksonville, Fla., handled the contract.
