Dan Derby Joins Amherst Securities Group

Texas Business reports:  AUSTIN—Amherst Securities Group LP, a financial services provider to institutional investors in the mortgage sector, announced Dan Derby joined the company as a vice president of fixed income securities.

Derby has more than 15 years experience in the mortgage backed securities market, primarily covering depository institutions.  He will be based in Amherst's Chicago office.

“Dan is an exceptional addition to our firm,” said Dan Hoffman at Amherst Securities. “His experience, particularly in working with depository institutions, makes him an excellent fit to our talented sales team as we look to grow the fixed income expertise and services we offer to meet our clients’ needs.”

Derby joins Amherst from Raymond James and Associates, where he was a vice president focused on institutional fixed income sales, primarily with agency and non-agency mortgage backed securities. He was formerly at RBS Greenwich Capital for eight years and prior to that spent four years at Mercantile Bank.  Derby received a bachelor’s degree in economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
