Houston Firm Wins $44.5 Million U.S. Utility Contract | hou_txbz, Constellation New Energy, Defense Logistics Agency, Fort Belvoir,

Texas Business reports:  A Houston firm won a $44.5 million contract to provide electricity to the U.S. government, the U.S. Department of Defense announced.

Constellation NewEnergy Inc. of Houston,  received a maximum $44,505,118 firm-fixed-price contract for electricity.

There are no other locations of performance.

Using service is Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and federal civilian agencies.

There were originally 113 proposals solicited with nine responses. 

The date of performance completion is Jan. 31, 2013. 

The Defense Logistics Agency of Fort Belvoir, Virginia handled the contract.
