Houston Firm Wins $50 Million Army Corps of Engineers Contract

 Texas Business reports:  A Houston firm won a $50 million contract to to pipeline dredging for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Department of Defense announced.

Orion Construction LP of Houston received a $50,000,000 firm-fixed-price contract. 

The award will provide for the pipeline dredging services in support of projects in Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida. 

Work location will be determined with each contract, with an estimated completion date of May 30, 2013.

The bid was solicited through the Internet, with six bids received. 

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile, Ala., handled the contract.
