But only a tiny minority of you pushed through the U.S. Patent office from application to successful patent. We've seen Texans change the world many times over. Jack Kilby did it with Texas Instruments in 1958 with the integrated circuit, causing the start of the digital revolution, which, in part, is why you can read these words over your electronic device.

Gerald Ray Stautzenberger Sr. of Abilene recently received U.S. Patent 8,091,749 for “Golf Car and All Terrain Vehicle Propane Heater and Cupholder Frame.
Texas Business Patent of the Day: When one invents a device that prevent all weather golfers from burn injuries in the winter, it surely is a sign that civilization has advanced to a certain point. An Abilene man devised a way to prevent golfers from being burned by propane heaters in their golf carts when golfing in cold weather.
Gerald Ray Stautzenberger Sr. of Abilene recently received U.S. Patent 8,091,749 for “Golf Car and All Terrain Vehicle Propane Heater and Cupholder Frame.
Stautzenberger applied for the patent on March 5, 2008.
The Abilene man’s invention relates to a frame or device used to support or hold a propane bottle, propane heater head, cup holders, golf ball holder and storage box, according to the patent document.
The propane heater frame was designed to prevent damage and or injury in a golf car or all terrain vehicle (ATV). The frame establishes a safe mounting position while the golf car or ATV is in motion.
Propane heaters are used by golfers and hunters during times of cold weather.
Presently, propane heaters are mounted to the golf car or ATV by placing the heater and propane bottle in a manufactured cup holder of a golf car or ATV (assuming that the golf car or ATV was manufactured with a cup holder).
The standard cup holder is ill suited as a mounting device for the heater head and propane bottle due to the fact that the propane heater head and bottle's weight is centered toward the top of the device.
Thus, the propane heater and bottle becomes unstable and can easily fall out of the cup holder when the golf car or ATV is in motion.
Secondly, burn injuries to the occupants are evident should the propane heater fall from its mounting position
Stautzenberger’s propane heater frame's purpose is two fold. First, its purpose is to prevent burn damage to the golf car or ATV and their related parts and components. The frame or device would be used by golfers or hunters in times of cold weather as a secure mounting device for a propane heater device and propane bottle. Although the main purpose of the frame is a secure location for the propane heater device and propane bottle, it secondly also consists of a storage container, two cup holders and a golf ball receptacle.
The device attaches to the windshield frame of a golf cart or all terrain vehicle and is adjustable to all makes and models as a mounting device for a propane heater device and propane bottle.
