Satterfield & Pontikes Wins $1.2 Million Goodman Lab Expansion

Texas Business reports: HOUSTON—Goodman Manufacturing Company awarded a contract to Satterfield & Pontikes Construction Inc. (S&P) for expansion and renovation of Goodman’s testing laboratory in Houston.

The $1.2 million project will commence construction activities soon and is projected to be complete later this year.

The scope of work involves doubling the size of the current Goodman lab through the expansion into existing storage warehouse space. The 9,200-square-foot project includes the new 4,600-square-foot addition along with renovations to the existing 4,600-square-foot lab.

The one-story facility will receive HVAC system upgrades to include cooling tower, pumps and installation of rooftop units. Electrical system improvements include fixtures, panel/transformers, switches and wiring. Upgrades to the plumbing system include reverse osmosis and compressed air systems. The scope of work also includes thermal and moisture protection, fire suppression, and windows and doors glazing.

“I am pleased that S&P will be able to provide Goodman Manufacturing with this needed expansion and continue our long, successful partnership with the company,” said S&P chief executive George A. Pontikes Jr. in a prepared statement.

S&P has provided renovations, upgrades and new construction at numerous Goodman facilities in the past 20 years.
