Schertz's Spawglass Wins $50.5 Million Air Force Dorm Contract

Texas Business reports: A Texas firm won a $50.5 million contract to build an air force dormitory in San Antonio, the U.S. Department of Defense announced.

SpawGlass Contractors Inc. of Schertz, Texas, received a $50,530,205 firm-fixed-price contract. 

The award will provide for the construction of a basic military training recruit dormitory at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. 

Work will be performed in San Antonio, with an estimated completion date of Aug. 30, 2014. 

The bid was solicited through the Internet, with six bids received. 

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth, Texas, handled the contract.
