Texarkana Firm Wins $12.6 Million PBX Explosives Contract

Texas Business reports:  A Texarkana firm won a $12.6 million contract to provide components for polymer-bonded explosives, the U.S. Department of Defense announced.

Day Zimmerman—Lone Star LLC of Texarkana, Texas, received a $12,622,914 firm-fixed-price contract.  PBX explosives often are used in various gun shells and weapons.

The award will provide for the procurement of PBXN-9 Supplementary Charge. 

Work will be performed in Texarkana, with an estimated completion date of June 28, 2017.

The bid was solicited through the internet, with five bids received. 

The U.S. Army Contracting Command of Rock Island, Ill., handled the contract.
