You might say we’re under the Chinese curse of an interesting time.

As Texas wildfires eat into urban sprawl, the majority of Texans who believed the drought was an agricultural problem finally are waking to the fact it’s everybody’s problem.   The natural disaster continues in Bastrop County, Possum Kingdom, and many other spots in the state.

Until this weekend, many bemoaned the fact the Big 12 is starting its year-long goodbye to the Texas Aggies and that the SEC continues to accelerate its recruitment of Texas high school football players. The Longhorn network began its broadcast life August 26, but the importance of these stories blew away by strong winds and fire.

It’s been a tough year for many.  It was a tough Labor Day weekend for several.
