Vertex Secures Contract Extension with DC Water to Continue to Host and Manage CIS and Billing Services

Texas Business reports:  A Richardson company won a contract extensions with the District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority.

Vertex, an international customer management outsourcing business with clients in the private and public sectors will continue to host and run its proprietary customer information system (CIS) for DC Water, as well as manage billing services for DC Water's customers.

DC Water is a multi-jurisdictional regional utility that provides drinking water, wastewater collection and treatment for millions of visitors, residents and employees in the District of Columbia, and also collects and treats wastewater for a population of 1.6 million in Montgomery and Prince Georges counties in Maryland and Fairfax and Loudoun counties in Virginia.

“It's exciting for us to be able to continue to build on the strong foundation already established with DC Water,” said  Dan Sullivan, managing director, Utilities, Vertex North America, in a prepared statement.  “It's our goal to work closely with our clients to provide solutions that create stronger relationships with customers and improve efficiencies, and we look forward to continuing to help DC Water achieve its objectives in those areas.”

The District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority (DC Water) is an industry leading multi-jurisdictional regional utility that provides drinking water, wastewater collection and treatment for millions of visitors, residents and employees in the District of Columbia, and also collects and treats wastewater for a population of 1.6 million in Montgomery and Prince Georges counties in Maryland and Fairfax and Loudoun counties in Virginia.

DC Water's service area covers approximately 725 square miles and the enterprise operates the world's largest advanced wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 370 million gallons per day and has a peak capacity of 1.076 billion gallons per day.

Vertex employs about 15,000 people on four continents across 70 locations, servicing 50 million consumers. In North America, there are more than 2,500 employees based in 19 centers serving more than 23 million consumers for more than 60 electric, gas and water clients.
